40 = 40mm frame length and width. 10 = 10mm thickness. It’s the standard metric notation for miniature fans. Other common sizes include 4020 (40x40x20mm), 6025 (60x60x25mm), and 9225 (92x92x25mm). The 4010 is one of the thinnest options, ideal for tight spaces like 1U servers, compact power supplies, and portable electronics. Thinner fans move less air but fit where others won’t.

Yes. Our LKD4010B-24H includes both PWM speed control and FG tacho output. PWM lets you adjust fan speed based on temperature – quieter at low loads, full speed when needed.
